Went to a Titleist ball fitting at my club in Tampa in December mostly because they gave you a dozen of the not yet released Pro-V1x’s for attending. After hearing about Mr. Snell’s history and doing some reading and YouTube watching, I bought 2 dozen MTB Red. After using all of the new free Titleist balls, I opened the first box this week. I’m an 8 hcp. With a driver swing speed of 105 mph. The MTB’s fly like crazy, hold greens incredibly well even on longer approach shots, and roll off the putter with great feel. They are also very durable, seeing no signs of any wear after 18 holes, including a few hot bunker landings. My Ping G400 irons have scuffed Titleist balls previously. Since I’ll be playing Snell balls from now on, I don’t know what I’ll do with all of my Titleist hats!

Played both MTB Red and Black. Both great balls but lean more to Red for green side feel. Compare Reds to Chrome Soft and Srixon Z Star and I find all are better than pro V1 that I used to play. Will be purchasing another 6 Doz special in 2019 of the MTB Red

I have been using Snell golf balls for the last 2 years. They are as good or better than any premium golf ball that I have played. The spin on these golf balls is unbelievable with short irons. The feel and sound of Snell golf balls is as good as the best golf balls on the market. Do yourself a favor and try a dozen, you won’t go back to your old golf ball!!

I’m sorry, but it is simple. If you are a golfer who wants the performance of a premium golf ball and NOT at a premium price, then play Snell MTB golf balls, period.

Been playing Pro V’s for years, discovered the Snells about 18 months ago. Played the MTB black for a year loved them. When the Reds came out I was completely sold on them went from a 14.3 to a 12.7 in one summer. Can’t say it was all the new Reds, but they did make a BIG difference 100 yards and in…. And the price is the best part for an old retired guy.

Have played both MTB Red and Black. Was a low handicap in my younger years. Today I like (very much) the overall higher spin of MTB Red BUT I am far more “luckier” these days using the MTB Black no doubt due to the lower compression and (many) favorable bounces. My game is coming back and Dean Snell’s MTB Black is part of that recovery. Golfers I play with are noticing too!

I recently returned to Arizona from Canada and needed balls so I ordered a split dozen of MTB Black and MTB red in yellow. After playing both I decided on buying 2 dozen more of the MTB Black. I have gained almost all the distance I have lost over the last 8-9 years.. at 71 years of age I’m back to hitting it 240 to 250….what a pleasant surprise ! thank you SNELL :)

I thought if I could hit a ball as good as a PROV1 at a reduced cost it would be worth trying. But were they as good. So I gave them to three of my golf buddies that use strictly PORV1’s. They now use Snell’s. All three said that the Snell was a better ball. It stayed in the air longer, which means it traveled further. They saw the same performance approaching the green and on the green. They converted. So now we go together and buy the six packs all the time. So I can hit a great ball for less price also.

I ordered the Sample pack and tested both the MTB Black and MTB Red during a round of golf. I usually play Pro V1’s, but settled on the MTB Black. I shot my low round of the year, a 77, at my home course. The ball was long off the tee and with my iron shots. Stopped on a dime with my wedges. I have since ordered 2 dozen of the MTB Blacks, and will put them in play in the spring!

Alternative way to use slightly better performance than Titleist golf balls at the remarkably low cost.

A friend of mine brought some to our annual golf trip, so I though what the heck. I may never switch back. If the Snell ball and the Pro-V ball were the same price, I would still take the Snell ball. My 13 year old son is ranked #1 in our state for his age and he has always been a Pro-V1* ball snob. I gave him a sleeve to try out. He called me from the course and asked me to get him more. We buy them by the 6 dozen value deal. He contacted the governing body of the junior tours that he plays on to verify that Snell qualifies for competitive play, and they obviously were. He went out and shot his best score the following week. His handicap is a 3.2 in case you were wondering, and his average drive is between 230 and 240 yards.

I’m a professional tech writer and long time golfer. I am co-authoring with PGA Professional Paul Steward a golf book entitled So You Want to Play Golf: A true Beginner’s Guide, which will be out in a month or so. We talk about Snell golf balls and recommend them.

22 handicap ,not proud of it,used to be a 9-11 until I got older stiffer etc, Wil told me about you then I did my on research then I ordered the reds .Thirsday I played the best pro v with my name on it and shot 98. Friday my reds came in and I took 3 out and practiced mainly putted with them with unimpressive results. Game time Saturday 9:00 : 21 in our group, Hit my Snell red on number one missed a short putt for par made triple on 2 and 3 proceeded to shoot 46 on the front then on 13 hit an extra club on 13 for my third on the par four and it stopped dead 6 feet past the hole. My buddies said whaaaat? On 17 spun a wedge back a few feet Parred 18 shot 90 busted my quota by 2. Played the same ball start to finish.Looking forward to my next Wednesday round with a brand new Snell Red!

Bought a mixed dozen of red and black and was very impressed. I am a high handicap player but I must tell you that I have never hit a ball further than these balls. I like the way the red stops on the green and the sound of a square strike is exciting for an older golfer. Thanks I will be reordering soon.

I have used the Titleist PROV1 ball for many years, but lately, the price is skyrocketing. I ordered the MTB Red ball early this summer just to try the comparison to the Prov1. It’s softer, has plenty of bite on the chip shots, and the greens. It WILL get out there with the best off the tee as well. I hit my longest drive on #17 at MHCC in Northern Maine with this ball, as well…WELL WORTH THE MONEY HERE! and I love the yellows. Just ordered 6 dozen and committed to play the Red full time next season. Thanks, Dean…You are to be commended for a great ball at a great price, as well! Sam Townsend from Maine

I tried your Snell MTB black recently and enjoyed it very much. I found the distance equal to ProV1 at $16 less a dozen. I just ordered two more dozen and have become quite a Snell Ambassador at my golf club. Thanks Snell!

Used the snell blacks and reds yesterday for first time. The RED are so super soft off a putter. Black feels more like a pro v. Red such a total great fee as never experienced before. Distance carries as long if not longer than hitting a pro v or callaway.
Since first time out using them, was VERY impressed. Did loose a couple but hats due to my error. Not the ball

    More to
Come after I play with them more.

Just wondered if there is a typo on the ball speed of Pro V 1 off the driver. Either way I love these balls. I have given out sleeves of them to many of my friends to try them. I do that because someone gave me one ball to try last year and otherwise I would not have even heard of these balls. Since then I have bought two cases, and I am now trying out the test pack before I order the new red or black.

I am starting to see some Snell balls in the edge of the ponds here at Sun City Grand. With four courses and about 50 possible ways to loose a ball, I know those are not all mine in the water. Thanks for sharing your wealth of informed abilities in making the Snell ball.
